Wealthsimple credit card referral: 5% cash back for 30 days

What the boost is
At the time of last verification (October 5, 2026), a promotion effective October 2, 2026 gave both people 3% extra on top of the card's standard 2% (5% total) for 30 days. Only the first $10,000 of net purchases earns the extra. Cash like transactions, gift cards, refunds and fees do not earn cash back. See the official promotion article.
Who can refer
The referrer must be an existing client in good standing, a Canadian resident of the age of majority, and must hold a Wealthsimple Visa Infinite+ or Visa Infinite Privilege card.
At the time of last verification, the owner of this site had not confirmed holding an eligible card, so using code LUML7A is not a promise of the card boost. The standard $25 account referral is separate.
Who can be referred
The friend must be brand new: never registered for or funded a Wealthsimple account, never approved for a Wealthsimple credit card, a Canadian resident of the age of majority, and the primary account holder.
Step by step
- Sign up with the referral link, or apply the code to an unfunded account.
- Apply for the card and get approved within the 30 day referral period.
- The boost turns on within 72 hours after the referral period ends and applies to settled purchases for 30 days.
Check that the card you are approved for is a Visa Infinite+ or Visa Infinite Privilege card, as the terms define.
The 180 day rule
Keep the card open for 180 days after the boosted period ends, or Wealthsimple can take back the extra 3%.
Worked example
- Spend $4,000: $120 extra on top of the normal $80, so $200 total.
- Spend $12,000: the extra applies to $10,000 only, so $300 extra plus $240 at 2%, $540 total.
How it relates to other offers
This is separate from the $25 account referral (see the referral terms). Each client can get at most 20 referral boosts, and they run one after another. Some welcome offers cannot be combined with this boost, so read the terms.
