How the checker decides

  • Your funding deadline is 30 days after the referral is linked.
  • You need $100+ in net deposits from outside Wealthsimple.
  • Only bank deposits, institution transfers and external crypto count. Wealthsimple user transfers, internal moves, promo credits and group plan transfers do not.
  • If you added the code later, it must be within 7 days of your first deposit.
  • The referral must be on your first ever funded account.
  • The bonus goes to chequing. You have 90 days after the notice to open one.
  • Keep the bonus for 180 days or it may be taken back.

Does an e-Transfer from a friend on Wealthsimple count?

No. Money sent from another Wealthsimple user does not count toward the referral deposit. Use a deposit from your bank, an institution transfer, or crypto from an external wallet.

What if I entered the code late?

At the time of last verification, you had 7 days after your first deposit to add a code in the app. After that, you can only ask Wealthsimple support about a manual referral.
